This project was completed throughout a senior level publishing course at SFU. The task was to design a magazine for any topic of our choice and define a clear brand identity and target readership for our publication. The final product was to create the main features a of a magazine: cover, table of contents, feature story.
Lavish is a magazine for luxury travellers who enjoy the extravagance and grandeur of travelling. It features different cities and provides readers with the opulent lifestyle of five-star resorts, top dining, activities and more. The magazine inspires travellers to have a richer and more meaningful perspective of destinations through in-depth features, interviews, personal stories, city guides, and photography. Lavish’s mission is to curate a true authentic connection with a city’s culture while being able to experience it in grand fashion.
Lavish is defined as “rich, elaborate, luxurious,” as well as “to expend or give in great amount or without limit.” The magazine’s name is symbolic to the lifestyle of a wealthy individual who lives in style and luxury. In addition, the name resonates with the vision of limitless travelling and endless opportunities.
